The status report sets out to examine the current state of developments and applications in the blow moulding of engineering parts and to spotlight future applications and developments. The survey reviews both machine systems and production technology and the market situation. It is based on an evaluation of the technical literature over the last few years and - especially - on impressions of visits and the outcome of discussions with companies in the industry. The companies surveyed have all developed specialist expertise in blow moulding of complex engineering parts and associated fabricating processes. Each is working to safeguard its market position and market segment. In addition, there are many product-specific and customer-related developments. A series of joint projects is being carried out between processors, machinery manufacturers, and raw material suppliers on processing of engineering plastics and thermoplastic elastomers which are still processed in considerably smaller volumes than polyolefins.
