Pulmonary toxicity is a rare but potentially life-threatening adverse event associated with immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and radiation therapy. Although well-recognized among oncologists, it is often underdiagnosed, and fulminant courses can be fatal if not promptly addressed. Early diagnosis and timely intervention are critical for improving patient outcomes and ensuring a favorable long-term prognosis. However, in the absence of clear, standardized guidelines, the management of therapy-induced pulmonary toxicity and decisions regarding the reinitiation of treatment often relies heavily on individual physician experience. This article aims to raise awareness of this important clinical issue and emphasize the importance of early recognition and management of pulmonary toxicity associated with cancer therapies.
