On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the death of Michel Foucault (1926-1984), Walter Seitter talks with Christoph T. Burmeister and Heike Delitz about his personal experiences with Foucault and other Parisian intellectuals, including Raymond Aron, Louis Althusser and Jacques Lacan; about his translations of Michel Foucault's works (Die Geburt der Klinik 1973 [The birth of the clinic], Die Ordnung des Diskurses 1974 [The order of discourse], & Uuml;berwachen und Strafen 1976 [Discipline and punish], Sexualit & auml;t und Wahrheit 1. Der Wille zum Wissen 1983 [The history of sexuality 1: The will to knowledge] and many others); on Foucault's theoretical links with, for example, Karl Marx, Friedrich Nietzsche and Jacques Lacan, Pierre Klossowski and Georges Bataille; on the journal "Tumult. Zeitschrift f & uuml;r Verkehrswissenschaft" [Tumult. Journal of traffic science], and on the works that Walter Seitter himself has published and is currently working on-following Foucault, but also developing completely different themes and his own concepts.
