Abstract

The spectrum of diseases in childhood and adolescence has shifted towards symptoms of psychosomatic and sociopediatric disorders. The individual interaction between body, environment and psyche based on the individual biography of a patient, is often insufficiently taken into consideration during treatment. In the field of early recognition of mental disorders there is a need for adaptation, through the systematic further education during the actual pediatric and adolescent medical training and also by comprehensive implementation of the existing early recognition screening procedures. In association with improved remuneration in primary psychosomatic healthcare, this fulfils the prerequisites for the early recognition and prevention of psychiatric diseases, which greatly improves the prognosis.
