Gynecological emergencies are rare situations for the emergency physician in the prehospital setting and in the emergency department. This article presents relevant emergencies of gynecology. Part 1 describes the common presentation or leading symptom: lower abdominal pain of the woman. The exact emergency history and examination are presented in a modified way. The aim is to provide a structured approach to deal with these patients.
