The "New activity coefficient model" recently proposed by Lin et al is shown to be identical to the special, homogeneous case of the COSMOSPACE model [A. Klamt, G.J.P. Krooshof, R. Taylor, AlChE J. 48 (2002) 2332-2349]. Also the proof of theoretical shortcomings of the UNIQUAC method as well as the demonstration of the striking agreement of this model with corresponding lattice Monte Carlo simulations presented by Lin et al. have already been presented in the same paper in a very similar way.
