The ammonolysis of SiS2 in liquid ammonia yields crystalline (NH4)(2)[SiS3(NH3)]center dot 2NH(3), which contains [SiS3(NH3)] (2-) as a derivative of the ortho-thiosilicate anion SiS44-.
