Abstract

The complex Ag(8-quinolinol)(8-quinolinolate) shows an IL fluorescence while an IL phosphorescence does not appear. The IL triplet is deactivated to a reactive LMCT state. A subsequent photoredox reaction leads to generation of elemental silver. (c) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
