Abstract

Biological information is transmitted through molecular recognition. This is achieved in aqueous systems by weak interactions supported by appropriate molecular and supramolecular architectures. We review the specific anion effects on nucleolipid anionic surfactants, a class of molecules suitable to reproduce recognition functionalities typical of DNA and RNA. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd.
