Abstract

Gadolinium induces a heavyatom effect in the complexes [M(CN)(6)](3-) with M=Cr and Co. As a consequence the compounds Gd[M(CN)(6)] show an intense phosphorescence from dd states under ambient conditions. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
