Abstract

Yellow crystals of the title compound, [Mn(dien)(2)] [Sb4S7].0.5H(2)O (dien=diethylenetriamine=C4H13N3) were synthesized under solvothermal conditions by reacting MnSb2S4 with pure then. The Mn2+ ion is in an octahedral environment of six N atoms of the tridentate then molecules. The [Sb4S7](2-) units, and anions are joined together to form two-dimensional layers. In the layered anion, Sb2S2, Sb4S4 and Sb8S8 heterorings are found.
