Abstract

Iron(III) complexes with phenolate ligands (m-cresolate and tyrosinate) undergo a redox photolysis in aqueous solution upon phenolate Fe(III) ligand-to-metal charge transfer excitation. At lambda(irr) - 577 nm the quantum yields of Fe(II) formation are approximately phi = 10(-4). (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
