Abstract

The ion pairs C7H7+I- and [(eta(7)-C7H7)Mo-0(CO)(3)]I-+(-) in CH,Cl, show I C7H7+ CT absorptions at lambda(max) = 570 and 640 nm, respectively. This outer-sphere CT appears also as an I- C7H7+ ligand-to-ligand CT band (lambda(max) = 735 nm) in the absorption spectrum of the complex (eta(7)-C7H7)Mo-0(CO)(2)I. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V.
