Abstract

A port-wine stain is a congenital vascular malformation characterized by a dilatation of superficial dermal capillaries. We report on 4 patients with port-wine stains and eczema. In two patients, the port-wine stain was on the neck, in one case on the back, in one case on the left cheek. These patients were treated with the flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser. In all cases the effect was lightening of the port-wine stain and partially visible improvement respectively healing of the eczema was seen.
