Abstract

The cyclic trimer [(C5Me5)Rh-III(doa)](3)(3+) With doa = 2'-deoxyadenosinate is characterized by a low-energy ligand field (LF) excited state which is emissive (lambda(max) = 580 nm) and reactive. The irradiation of the complex in water leads to a photoaquation with the formation of [(C5Me5)Rh-III(H2O)(3)](2+) and doaH. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
