Abstract

Data from Raman spectra of liquid H2O, HDO and D2O and aqueous solutions of different salts indicate the same nature of the weak components 3441(2527), 3473(2553) and 3613(2658) cm(-1) of the water stretching band. These findings are related to molecule mobility in liquid water and defect formation of the spatial hydrogen bond network. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V, All rights reserved.
