Mn-III(J-salen)Cl (Jacobsen catalyst) with J-salen=N,N'-bis(3,5-di-tert.-butylsaticylidene)-1,2-diaminocyclohexane dianion in CHCl3 is photooxidized by the solvent to a Mn-IV(J-salen) complex, presumably Mn-IV(J-salen)Cl-2, with phi = 0.002 at lambda (irr) = 333 nm.
