Abstract

The scale parameter Lambda ((MS) over bar) is computed on the lattice in the quenched approximation and for N-f = 2 flavors of light dynamical quarks. The dynamical calculation is done with non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson-fern-dons. In the continuum limit we obtain Lambda (Nf=0)((MS) over bar) = 243(1)(10) MeV and Lambda (Nf =2)((MS) over bar) = 217(16)(11) MeV, respectively. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
