Abstract

The morphologic structure of indocyanine green J-aggregates in water and in heavy water is studied by transmission electron microscopic imaging and electron diffraction. In water sub-micrometer sized loosely packed porous particles with well resolved crystalline regions are observed. In heavy water sub-micrometer sized compact single crystalline particles are present. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
