Abstract

The reaction of P-4 with sodium in liquid ammonia (P : Na ratio 3 : 5) yields crystalline NaNH2 and [Na(NH3)(5)][Na(NH3)(3)(P3H3)], which contains all-trans catena-P3H32- stabilised in the ion complex [Na(NH3)(3)(P3H3)](-).
