Abstract

Trigemino-autonomic cephalgias comprise cluster headache, chronic paroxysmal hemicrania, SUNCT (shortlasting unilateral neuralgiform headache with conjunctival injection and tearing) - syndrom and hemicrania continua. Such as migraine and tension type headache they are usually primary headaches. The clinical manifestation is characterised by strictly unilateral head or facial pain accompanied by autonomic symptoms such as lacrimation, rhinorrhea, nasal congestion and lid edema. This article describes the diagnostics, epidemiology and therapy of these conditions.
