Abstract

The complex Zn[(BzImH)(2)Py](TDT) with (BzImH)(2)Py=2,6-bis(benzimidazolyl])pyridine and TDT2-=3,4- toluenedithiolate was prepared and characterized spectroscopically. The yellow colour of this compound is caused by an absorption band (lambda(max)=369 nm in ethanol), which is assigned to a ligand-to-ligand charge transfer transition from TDT2- to the(BzImH)(2)Py ligand.
