Abstract

Self-diffusion coefficients D were studied for the hydrogen bonded liquids N-methylformamide (NMF) and -acetamide (NMA) and for the highly polar compounds dimethylformamide (DMF) and -acetamide (DMA) at pressures up to 200 MPa between the melting pressure curves and 450 K by the pulsed field gradient spin echo method. The data are analysed with current models for fluid dynamics, and the influence of hydrogen bonding upon the diffusion process in NMF and NMA is evaluated.
