Abstract

3,5-Disubstituted 1,2,4-triazines 3 are converted regioselectively to 4-tributylstannyl-2,6-oligopyridines 4 via [4+2] cycloadditions with ethynyltributyltin. These tin compounds 4 are coupled with aryl bromides and aryloyl chlorides in palladium catalyzed reactions to 4-aryl-2,6-oligopyridines and 4-aryloyl-2,6-oligopyridines 6.
