Abstract

The irradiation of Ga(N-3)(3) in CH3CN leads to a reductive elimination of nitrogen according to the equation Ga-III(N-3)(3) --> (GaN3)-N-I + 3N(2) (phi = 0.002 at lambda(irr) = 254 nm). Ga+ in CH3CN is characterized by its absorption (lambda(max) = 298 nm) and emission (lambda(max) = 475 nm) spectrum.
