The reaction of N,N',N "-tris[(S)-1'-phenylethyl]hexahydro-1,3,5-triazine (2) with anhydrous CuCl2, (CH3CN)(3)Cr(CO)(3), (eta(6)-C7H8)Mo(CO)(3) and (eta(6)-C7H8)W(CO)(3) leads to new chiral complexes, of which (eta(3)-C27H33N3)CuCl2 (3) and eta(3)-(C27H33N3)CrH(CO)(3) (4) are characterized by X-ray structure analyses. In complex 3 the three nitrogen atoms coordinate in two different ways. Complex 4 crystallizes in a layer-structure and contains chiral cavities. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
