Abstract

The binuclear complexes Pt-II(1,2-diimine)(mu-(S2MS2)-S-VI) With 1,2-diimine = 2,2'-bipyridyl and biacetyl bis(anil) and M = Mo and W show long-wavelength absorption bands above 550 nm which are assigned to ligand-to-ligand charge transfer transitions from the bridging sulfide to the diimine ligands.
