Abstract

Easy to realize recipes are given to modify a conventional low pressure longitudinally excited e-switched CO2 laser by pulsing the electrical discharge. An increase of the peak power of strong laser lines up to a factor of 6 is obtained, as well as laser emission on a considerably larger number of vib-rot transitions.
