Abstract

Yields of triplet formation, phi S1T1 by S-1-T-1 intersystem-crossing are determined for indocyanine green in DMSO (phi S1T1 approximate to 17%), methanol (phi S1T1 approximate to 16%), water (phi S1T1 approximate to 14%), and aqueous albumin solution (phi S1T1 approximate to 11%) using a picosecond laser double-pulse fluorescence excitation technique.
