Abstract

2-Cyana-3-(2-pyridyl)methylacrylates form substituted indolizines upon electrochemical reduction in the presence of chlorotrimethylsilane. All indolizines prepared by this procedure show intense fluorescence in solution and in the crystalline state. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
