Abstract

The binuclear complex [Re2Br2(CO)(6)(Se(2)Ph(2))] shows an absorption at lambda(max) = 434 mn (in CH2Cl2) which is assigned to a MLCT (metal-to-ligand charge transfer) transition from Re-I to the sigma*(Se-Se) orbital of the bridging diphenyl diselenide ligand.
