Abstract

Time resolved fluorescence studies of some organic dyes (erythrosin B, rose bengal, tetraphenylporphyrin) by intense picosecond double and multiple pulse excitation (duration 6 ps, wavelength 527 nm, pulse separation 10 ns) reveal an efficient higher excited-state triplet-singlet intersystem crossing. The absorption and emission dynamics is analysed. The quantum yields of the higher excited-state triplet-singlet transfer are determined.
