Abstract

One of the drug-therapeutic approaches to cancer treatment is aimed at DNA modification by the application of platinum(II) complexes. The diastereoselective synthesis of 1,3-diphenylpropane-1,3-diamines and their Pt complexes are described. The compounds were tested for cytostatic activity at the estrogen-independent MDA-MB 231 mammary tumor cell line. The mechanism of action and the structure-function relationship of these potential drugs are discussed.
