Abstract

A new bisphospholane, BDPB, derived from 1,2-bisphosphanobenzene and tartaric acid as well as the complex [Rh(COD)(BDPB)]PF6 were synthesized. The strong binding of BDPB to metals and the presence of four functional groups in the periphery of the molecule make this bisphospholane a good starting point for new expanded bisphosphanes.
