Abstract

The properties of plasmon resonances in metal clusters are computed within the random phase approximation (RPA), starting from the Kohn-Sham ground state within the jellium model. The paper aims at a systematic survey of the general trends with varying parameters such as electron number, angular momentum, Wigner-Seitz radius etc. To this end we exploit the flexibility of a particular RPA scheme which allows to switch easily between different levels of approximation.
