German category norms for representatives of 48 conceptual categories were obtained from 100 subjects. For 46 of these categories german normative data were collected for the first time. Subjects were instructed to produce for each category as many items included in that category as possible. For each response to a category the total frequency of occurrence of that response and the number of times each response was given first in the response sequence are presented. The following descriptive statistics for each category are also included: reliability, number of different responses and total sum of responses given by all subjects. The results of this study are compared with those by Mannhaupt (1983).
