Abstract

Spectral lines of low-temperature photoluminescence in ZnSe0.3Te0.7/ZnTe single quantum wells (QW) with L(z) = 21 divided by 84 Angstrom are studied experimentally and theoretically with a special attention to the linewidth as a measure of the QW quality. The linewidth is shown to be determined by alloy disorder in the well material. Theoretical evaluations without any adjustable parameters fit well experimental data.
