Abstract

Scattering rates of Auger and electron-phonon processes between discrete Landau levels in a quasi-two-dimensional electron system are calculated. Using these rates we provide an understanding of the upconversion observed in the magneto-luminescence of one-side modulation doped GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells; in particular, of its dependence on excitation power and magnetic field.
