Abstract

We investigate scalar modes in an NJL model with inclusion of a dilatation (glueball) field. We also incorporate vector couplings. Scalar mesons are mixed quark-antiquark and glueball states in this model. We find the heavier one of these modes at a mass around 1.4 GeV, while the lighter one is the ''sigma-meson'' with a large pipi decay width. We discuss the possibility that the f0(1400) has a substantial glueball component.
