Abstract

It is shown that the presence of saturable losses qualitatively modifies the parameters of the solitary solution previously found in a nonlinear dispersive medium coupled to a finite bandwidth homogeneous gain. Stable low energy propagation is possible at positive values of the group velocity dispersion.
