Abstract

Processible conducting polymers based on 3,4-substituted polythiophenes have been known for some time. Here, the synthesis and polymerization of an analogue to the thiophenes, the dialkoxypyrrole monomer shown in the figure, are reported. The polymer formed exhibits a relatively high conductivity pointing to a regular, possible coiled structure.
