Abstract

We examined four patients with the suspected diagnosis of optic disc drusen by scanning laser opthalmascopy (SLO) and fundus photography. In all four cases the autofluorescence that distinguishes optic disc drusen was observed with the SLO, but not with the fundus camera. Three of the four examined patients, children or adolescents, were spared further diagnostic procedures to clarify the underlying cause of the swollen optic disc.
