Abstract

The hexameric complex [Sn6O4(OCH3)4] shows a low-temperature (77 K) photoluminescence of moderate intensity at lambda-max = 565 nm. This emission is assumed to originate from a metal-centered sp excited state which is modified by metal-metal interaction in the octahedral Sn(II)6 cluster.
