Abstract

It is shown that certain eigenvalue problems for ordinary differential operators with boundary conditions depending holomorphically on the eigenvalue parameter lambda can be linearized by making use of the theory of operator colligations. As examples, first order systems with boundary conditions depending polynomially on lambda and Sturm-Liouville problems with lambda-holomorphic boundary conditions are considered.
