Abstract

Medical professional societies were re-quested to nominate experts in order to establish an S3 guideline group according to the regulations of the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF). The interdisciplinary and inter-professional guideline group plus junior scientists were joined by a representative of the patients as well as a representative of the AWMF who supported the methodical realisation with her advice. Creation of the guideline proceeded in conformity with the provisions made by the AWMF and was based on the evaluation framework Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE) II.
