Technological change and a growing internationalization of competition lead to new work forms in industrial enterprises. This development also affects the area of further education in firms. What exactly are the consequences for the qualifying requirements to be met by educational staff? The study attempts to throw light on those qualifications which will, over the medium term, become important for trainers in enterprises. In this, the Delphi method was applied, in which educational experts working in different spheres of business in the Siemens AG were included. A consensus was reached after three rounds and a number of qualifying requirements was assessed. The results mirror recent developments leading to a view of further education within firms as services which are subject to the competition of the open market. Topicality and pedagogical competence are taken for granted in this field of educational work. The decisive quality criteria of further education are measured against the factors consumer orientation and quality.
